Plumbing Problems You Shouldn’t Ignore
By Wilmer Romero on Dec 28, 2017 in Plumbing
Not all plumbing problems require you to call up the Coast Guard, or whatever your first instinct might be when a problem arises at home that involves water. Some simply aren’t as pressing as others, and may not even require the care of a professional plumber.
But, for all those problems that do require an experienced to help make things right again, you can always count on Your 1 Plumber. Here, for example, are four common plumbing problems that should be dealt with right away:
Little or No Hot Water
For the sake of argument, let’s say your hot water needs are about the same as when you first had your current water heater involved. And yet, little by little, you’re running out at critical times, like when it’s your turn to take a shower. There’s very little else you depend on more for year-round indoor comfort, so when the lack of hot water starts negatively impacting your day, let us know so we can figure out what’s going on and advise you on the right course of action.
Water Stains
Water stains are a clear indication that something is leaking, and that’s never a good thing. It may not be a plumbing problem, but whatever it is, it needs to be thoroughly investigated. Your central AC’s air handler can leak, for example…that’s a job for an HVAC company. Water can leak through your roof and into your living spaces…that might need the attention of a roofing contractor. But for just about every other common occurrence, a cracked or leaking plumbing pipe or fixture is usually at the source of the problem, even it’s not immediately visible.
Leaky Faucet
As annoying as a dripping faucet can be, there are other reasons to replace or repair it. The first and most obvious is that it’s wasting water and driving up your water bill. Secondly, perhaps it can’t be fixed, and you need to have it replaced. It’s one of those household fixes that are better handled sooner than later.
Continuous Sound of Running Toilet
There are two common causes for a toilet that sounds like it’s running non-stop. One you won’t mind much, the other you will. In the “not mind much” department, we have the likelihood of an internal part malfunction of failure, and that’s almost always an easy repair vs. an occasion to replace your toilet. Now for the not so great news: a toilet can sound like it’s continuously running if there’s a crack or leak in your underground sewer pipes. In that instance, the problem isn’t with the toilet. Either way, it’s another plumbing “issue” you’ll want to resolve as quickly as possible.
For all the conveniences that modern plumbing offers, it also can be a royal pain when something goes wrong. We understand that and work very hard to repair any plumbing issue as quickly and economically as possible. So, for plumbing service and repair work you can count on any time of day or night, contact your local plumbing pros: Your 1 Plumber.
