2.     Clean the drain

Cleaning the drain overnight with bleach can be an effective method of preventing pet hair from clogging it. Around 12 ounces of bleach is enough to be poured into the drain, allowing it to work overnight.

Bleach free from perfumes and other additives should be used. A small amount of chlorine can also be allowed to run down the drain in the morning for best results.

Pour warm water subsequently until the smell is gone. Care must be taken when working with these cleaning chemicals.

3.     Boiling water can be used too

Pouring hot water can be a useful trick to prevent drains from clogging. A large amount of hot water should be carefully transferred down the drain or bath tub, once every month.

4.     Flush all the drains, simultaneously

Preventing pet hair from clogging drains can sometimes be as easy as flushing drains. But, all the drains in your house should be flushed simultaneously.

In order to do this, first shut all bathtub and shower drains, and allow the entire vessel to be completely filed with warm water. Open all drains after some time, at the same instant, and flush all the toilets simultaneously.
