“When Should I Replace My Sump Pump?”

Of course, that’s pretty much where the dissimilarities end.  Because like the rest of your plumbing, your sump pump is a mechanical system with a lifespan of about 10 years.  Has that time already come for you?  Here are a few indicators telling you it might be time to replace it:

• Keep your eye on the water. If you notice water getting closer and closer to the top of the sump from one rain storm to the next, you have another clear warning sign of impending failure or a repair issues facing you.  Waiting to act until water overflows the pit is waiting too long.
