Time to Update Your Shower Head?
By Wilmer Romero on Sep 14, 2016 in Plumbing
As we go about our daily and weekly plumbing rounds, oh the stories we could tell about the oddities we encounter. Case in point: with so many Maryland homes having been built decades ago, we’re often called in to repair or replace aging shower heads, some old we’re tempted to have them carbon dated.
Okay, maybe not quite that old, but still old and actually kind of pointless. Why pointless? Because some home owners are afraid if they upgrade to a new shower head, they’ll be forced to accept a reduced amount of flow and water pressure. And thus, they imagine, gone will be the days of pounding hot showers.
Well, that’s simply is not the case. While it’s true that today’s shower heads conserve water, you can impactful showers, just like in days of old, by replacing your current dinosaur model with a high pressure shower head that has fewer holes, thus compressing the flow of water to generate more force. Some shower heads come with compressed air so you don’t have to sacrifice the number of holes spraying water on you.
If you like standing or walking in the rain, there are even shower fixtures now that give you the same sensation — right in your own bathroom. If you’re considering a bathroom remodel or just want to upgrade your shower, contact Your 1 Plumber to learn more about the amazing number of options currently available to you.
